Coronation Street launch autumn dramas in Weatherfield
Coronation Street’s Autumn season is about to well and truly kick off when two weddings and a funeral rock the cobbles.
An action-packed week of episodes begins tonight (Monday 8th October) on ITV.
Tracy (Kate Ford) and Steve’s (Simon Gregson) wedding day arrives but dogged by doubts about the ‘free pass’ she gave him, Tracy accuses Steve of a fling with Abi (Sally Carman). Steve tries to convince his bride-to-be otherwise, and that Abi has just been giving him dance lessons, but he is not entirely innocent having had a romp with ex Leanne (Jane Danson) instead. Can a raging Tracy be calmed and will the ceremony go ahead?
Daniel (Rob Mallard) is planning a romantic wedding of his own as he has organised a beautiful fairytale ceremony in the urban garden as a surprise for pregnant girlfriend Sinead (Katie McGlynn). But as Daniel gets down on one knee, Sinead’s thrown into turmoil as she is keeping the fact she may have cervical cancer from him. Sinead agrees to go ahead with the pagan wedding but will she confide in him about her health fears?
Daniel and Sinead, but will the future be fairytale?
Michelle and Ryan have troubles of a Ronan kind, and its not a Boyzone album stuck in the car CD player.
Meanwhile, the Connors are going through hell. Since Ryan’s (Ryan Prescott) involvement in Cormac’s death, his drug dealer dad Ronan (Alan McKenna) has been out for revenge. After Ryan gets a kicking whilst in police custody, and a funeral wreath arrives at their flat, Michelle goes to Cormac’s wake and tries to reason with Ronan. When that fails, Michelle decides that they must go and ask for police protection.
Ronan’s onto them though and a terrifying car chase ensues in which the Connors soon become sitting ducks (thanks to Tracy, who tampered with Michelle’s car whilst it was at the garage in order to frame Abi). There’s a crash… and with Ryan out of the car Ronan drives straight at him. The terrible incident leaves one person dead, two fighting for their lives, and a secret that will overshadow the family for years to come.
And as the week draws to a close the shock return of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) sends more ripples through the street. Nick is back for Leanne, the pair have unfinished business, but what has Nick been up to in his years away from Weatherfield?
