Seann Walsh leaves Strictly Come Dancing
The comedian became the fifth celebrity to exit the competition this weekend.
The judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes to see which two couples would face the dance off. This week, that was Seann Walsh and his professional partner Katya Jones and Graeme Swann and his professional partner Oti Mabuse.
Both couples performed their routines again before the judges decided which of them should remain in the competition. Graeme and Oti did their Cha Cha to Thriller by Michael Jackson while Seann and Katya performed their Viennese Waltz to I Put A Spell On You by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.
Craig Revel Horwood noted that “one couple had timing issues; the other had placement issues,” however he chose to save Graeme and Oti whose dance he had enjoyed the most. Darcey Bussell chose to save Graeme and Oti as well on a higher “performance value”, while Bruno Tonioli also favoured Graeme and Oti stating that both couples were “far from perfect” but that like Craig he had enjoyed Graeme and Oti’s dance the most.
Head Judge Shirley Ballas didn’t have to cast her vote but said she would have given it to Graeme and Oti.
“This has been without a doubt the best experience of my life, probably bar the last few weeks. But generally speaking from the beginning it really was. I can’t believe it, it’s been amazing.” – Seann Walsh
Asked if she had any words for Seann, Katya said: “It wasn’t easy but thank you for your commitment every single day. We did twelve hours, it was amazing and I’m so proud of you from day one when you couldn’t get your right from your left and now delivering dances like that. Thanks for making me laugh a lot”.
“It’s an absolute miracle that I’ve gotten this far. I’ve been Neo from The Matrix, I’ve been used as a step of steps and even Craig a few weeks ago called me hot, it’s been a dream come true and that’s because of you,” added Seann
Seann and Katya found themselves at the centre of a tabloid storm during their time on Strictly after pictures emerged of them kissing outside a pub a few weeks ago. Funnyman Seann was, at the time, in a relationship whilst Katya is married to fellow Strictly pro Neil Jones. Seann’s betrayed girlfriend, actress Rebecca Humphries, took to Twitter to reveal that she had suspected something was going on but was called a psycho by Seann over her suspicions, further noting that the pictures were taken on her birthday.
Sunday’s Results show also saw a special musical performance from Rita Ora who performed Let You Love Me. The remaining ten couples will take to the dancefloor again on Saturday 3rd November at 7.05pm.
