Michelle Collins to celebrate World Book Night

H Club London announced the former EastEnders and Coronation Street actress as one of a number of stars attending the celebration of World Book Night.

Michelle has most recently been seen in ITV’s Coronation Street as Stella Price.

H Club London, formerly The Hospital Club, recently announced their celebratory event for this year’s World Book Night taking place on Tuesday April 23rd.

The event will celebrate all that is wonderful and inspiring about reading, with the club hosting a range of authors and celebrities who will read passages from much-loved and upcoming books to attendees.

Confirmed celebrity attendees reading passages from their favourite books include Michelle Collins who has seen her fair share of dramas with long running roles in both BBC One’s EastEnders and ITV’s Coronation Street. As well as her soap roles, Michelle has had lead roles in popular dramas including Sunburn and Real Women.

The actress, who is currently seen in Classic EastEnders as Cindy Beale on UKTV’s Drama channel, will be joined by fellow performers including Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs, Luther regular Steven Makintosh, Annabel Scholey from Being Human, Downton Abbey’s Catherine Steadman and Sex Education actor James Purefoy.

They are joined by a host of top-tier authors who will read passages from their recently released/upcoming books. These include Mike Gayle writer of The Man I Think I Know, Rebecca Reid who penned Perfect Liars, Emma Jane Unsworth scribe of Animals, Rosie Walsh writer of The Man Who Didn’t Call, Fiona Neill who devised The Betrayals, Bev Thomas who wrote A Good Enough Mother and Louise Doughty who penned Apple Tree Yard.

H Club London is a unique private member’s club in the heart of Covent Garden for members of the creative industries. The club was founded by Paul G. Allen, global philanthropist and co-founder of Microsoft and musician, Dave Stewart in 2004. The seven-story building houses a TV Studio, an art Gallery, restaurant and bars, a 36-seater screening room, a live performance space and 15 boutique bedrooms.
