Following Emily Atack’s meteoric rise to stardom since leaving ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, UKTV has ordered documentary series Emily Atack: Adulting for its premium entertainment channel W. The show will air in hour-long slots across four episodes.
Produced by Firecracker Films, Emily Atack: Adulting is a warm and comedic observational documentary about the rise and rise of last year’s Jungle Princess. The series follows Emily as she tries to answer the big life questions looming over her and the pressure she feels as she approaches turning thirty. Funny and moving, with access all areas to Emily’s life and social media, Emily Atack: Adulting provides an authentic voice for the modern-day woman in a traditional society.
Each episode poses a question based on parenthood, dating and body image, which Emily will attempt to answer with the help of friends, family, her social network and beyond.

Emily is the daughter of Kate Robbins, the actress and comedian famed for being a regular voice talent on Central Television’s Spitting Image puppet series – including the female vocalist on The Chicken Song which topped the charts in 1986. Kate had previously reached number two in the UK hit parade of 1981 with More Than In Love, written by EastEnders’ theme composer Simon May for the ATV soap Crossroads. Kate played Kate Loring in the motel based saga in which the song was performed. If that wasn’t enough, as part of group Prima Donna she came third in the 1980 Eurovision, and went on to write the original theme to LWT dreams come true series Surprise! Surprise! fronted by Cilla Black.
Talent runs in the family with Emily’s uncle Ted Robbins also a well known comedian, actor and presenter while aunt Amy Robbins is no stranger to the small screen with roles in dramas such as The Royal, Where The Heart Is and Heartbeat.
The new commission follows W’s success with female-led series on the channel including Emma Willis: Delivering Babies, the highest rating show in 2018. The second series returns later this year, along with brand new UKTV Original Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over. Both series are produced for W by Firecracker Films.
