Rylan joins It Takes Two
The former X Factor contestant and Big Brother personality will join Zoe Ball on the presenting team.
Rylan is best known for hosting Big Brother’s Big on the Side for Channel 5.
“I can’t begin to explain how excited I am to be joining the Strictly family. I’ve always been a massive fan of It Takes Two and to be working with the amazing Zoe Ball is a dream. I’m extremely honoured to be joining such a television institution and can’t wait to bring a lot of mischief to the Strictly bubble. I’m looking forward to getting started and seeing you all soon.” – Rylan Clark-Neal
BBC Two has announced today that Rylan Clark-Neal will be joining the presenting team on the sister show of Strictly Come Dancing. The series brings the latest ballroom gossip, backstage access and guest interviews each weeknight while Strictly is on air across the autumn.
Launched in 2004 the series was hosted originally by Claudia Winkleman with Zoe Ball taking over proceedings in 2010 when Claudia moved over to the main show hosting the Sunday nights results show when Sir Bruce Forsyth decided to cut his workload, taking over his role entirely in 2014.
It Takes Two will see Rylan share presenting duties on the programme with Zoe Ball when it returns for Strictly season later this year. Zoe shared the news with listeners on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning, when Rylan Clark-Neal called in as a surprise guest
Rylan shot to fame on the ninth series of ITV’s The X Factor in 2012, later going on to win Celebrity Big Brother 11. He co-presented Big Brother spin-off series Bit On The Side with Emma Willis between 2013-2015, and then on his own until the series’ cancellation in 2018. He has also hosted his own late-night chat show on Channel 5, been a regular on ITV’s This Morning as both a showbiz presenter and a stand-in main host, and has presented on BBC Radio 2.
“I adore Rylan, he’s an absolute wonder, I love his daftness and naughtiness and he’s a brilliant live telly host. He’ll fit right into our It Takes Two family. Can’t wait for this new season to start, it’s going be a hoot!” – Zoe Ball
