EastEnders’ Carter clan film on location for Spice Girls themed plot
Danny Dyer, Kellie Bright, Luisa Bradshaw-White and Linda Henry channelled the band while filming today.
An upcoming storyline in the BBC One soap will see Mick (Danny Dyer) win tickets to the Wembley leg of the Spice Girls’ reunion tour for his wife Linda (Kellie Bright).
Fully embracing girl power, some more enthusiastically than others, the Carter family dress up as the famous quartet and head off for a night they’ll never forget.
The beeb have released new promotional images from today’s filming which show Queen Vic landlord Mick as Posh Spice, Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) as Ginger Spice, Linda as Baby Spice, and Shirley (Linda Henry) as Scary Spice.
Earlier this month, it was reported that former Grange Hill actor Lee MacDonald, who played Samuel ‘Zammo’ McGuire in the long-running school drama, would be making a guest appearance in the soap playing a character who will compete against Mick to win tickets to a Spice Girls gig.
Linda Carter is a massive fan of the band – whose hits include Who Do You Think You Are, Wannabe and Stop – with Mick and Tina previously getting into spice character for her during a birthday party in 2014.
The Spice Girls announced their first tour in over a decade in November last year. The tour kicks off in Dublin next month followed by appearances at Cardiff, Manchester, Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Bristol and finally, London’s Wembley Stadium.
Unfortunately, for fans of the original five-strong line-up, Victoria Beckham will be absent from the proceedings although it is rumoured that she could join Mel B, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel C at a later date.
EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
