Artists announced for this year’s OpenART in Örebro

OpenART in Orebro has revealed the artists taking part in the 2019 event.

OpenART is an international contemporary art biennial with participating artists from across the globe.

For the biennial 2019 organisers have chosen to look towards the Nordic countries of Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. The Nordic art is fairly new to OpenArt. There is no precedent for Iceland participants while there has only been a few from Denmark and Norway. 

This year’s exhibition will feature 60 artists, representing 19 different nationalities, who will together exhibit more than 80 artworks in Örebro’s city centre. 

Artists lined up for this year’s features include Alexandra Hedberg, Anders Rönnlund, Cecilia Parsberg, Erik Pauser, David martinez Escobar, Haval Murad, Filippa Nilsson Kallhed, Filthy Luker and Helgi Thorsson to name only a few. 

The OpenART launch day will be held on Saturday the 8th of June at 1pm in Järntorget. The exhibition will run for twelve weeks during the summer in Örebro, through to Sunday September 1st 2019.
