Rachel Riley becomes celebrity babysitter for UKTV

Rachel Riley is the first star name to join My Famous Babysitter.

Rachel on her ‘day job’ Countdown for Channel 4.

“I’m really up for the babysitter challenge: I’m sure they’ll teach me a lot. I’m scared and excited in equal measure!” – Rachel Riley

Produced by Swan Films, in each episode a celebrity shock-tests the reality of twenty-first century parenting by taking full responsibility for a family of children over four days.

The collision of the rarefied and high profile lives of the modern celebrity with the stark reality of managing food budgets, supervising homework, after-school clubs and the general domestic drudgery of running a household in Britain today will provide the opportunity for some entertaining, humorous and often poignant reflections from the celebrities on their life and own childhood.

“My Famous Babysitter is an entertaining but revealing glimpse into the universal struggle that many of our viewers face daily; how we parent today as well as juggling everything else that modern life demands of us. This, juxtaposed with the tantalising prospect of learning something we don’t know about some of our favourite faces, will hopefully make for an absorbing series for our viewers and a worthwhile experience for the celebs.” – Kirsty Hanson, commissioning editor

My Famous Babysitter will air on W later this year.

Earlier this week YolanDa Brown became the latest voice of the W channel. YolanDa has presented shows for the BBC Proms and her eponymous series, YolanDa’s Band Jam for CBeebies. She has toured with Motown legends The Temptations, Diana Krall, Billy Ocean and collaborated with Julian Marley, Mica Paris and as part of Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
