Zombies and the Paranormal for Netflix
Netflix have revealed details on their forthcoming ‘zombie thriller’ Army of the Dead.
From director Zack Snyder and writers Zack Snyder, Joby Harold and Shay Hatten the streaming service brings to screens later this year Army of the Dead, described by Netflix as a ‘zombie thriller’.
The storyline is being kept quiet by the producers at the moment however they have teased that the plot will see how the central characters cope following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas.
There is more twists than the usual zombie horror style format as the episodes also see how a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.
Cast announced today by Netflix include Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi and Huma Qureshi whom join the previously announced Dave Bautista. Army of the Dead marks Snyder’s return to the zombie genre, previously making his directorial debut with Dawn of the Dead for Universal Pictures. Principal photography is set to begin in July.
Also this week Netflix announced Paranormal its new original Middle Eastern series. Set in the 1960s, the production, packed with mystery and suspense, depicts the adventures of leading character Dr. Refaat Ismail, a single hematologist who finds himself faced with a series of supernatural events. Paranormal is set to be released later this summer.
