EastEnders is bringing back Dot’s granddaughter
The role of Kirsty ‘Dotty’ Cotton has been recast ahead of the character returning to Walford.
Dotty first appeared in the show during the Christmas episodes of 2008, with Nick (John Altman) revealing her existence to Dot (June Brown) for the first time. The Wednesday Addams lookalike – at the time played by Molly Conlin – was soon revealed to be in cahoots with Nick in a plan to bump off his long-suffering ma and inherit the money from her will.
Dotty later had second thoughts about her and Nick’s evil plan, leaving Nick to flee the Square after starting a fire at the café. Although Dotty came good in that particular scenario, she continued to exhibit bratty behaviour throughout the rest of her time on the show which ended with her returning to live with her biological mum, Sandy, in February 2010.
The role of Dotty will now be played by Milly Zero, who is known for her role as Hannah in CBBC’s All At Sea.
“I am honestly so excited to be playing Dotty Cotton and joining the E20 family, especially playing alongside June Brown, who I have been watching on my telly since I was a young girl. Her and Dotty have such an interesting relationship to explore with a complicated history, so I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. It all feels very surreal and I am buzzing already.” – Milly Zero
The Sun reports that Dotty will continue her reign of terror when she starts university in London.
