Beeb reveal Reading and Leeds Festival 2019 coverage

BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Music Introducing will return to Reading and Leeds Festival across the August bank holiday weekend.

From Friday August 23rd  to Sunday 25th August, the Radio 1 Stage, the Radio 1 Dance Stage and the 1Xtra Stage will all play host to some of the biggest names in music, while the BBC Music Introducing Stage remains the best place to catch the most exciting emerging artists.

Radio 1 and 1Xtra will be broadcasting live from the festival sites to deliver all of the most memorable moments across the weekend directly to listeners, from exclusive backstage interviews to headline performances from some of the world’s biggest artists.

Listeners can tune in live on BBC Sounds as well as on Radio 1 and 1Xtra, with additional content available on the app, including individual performances and specially curated music mixes. Maya Jama, Jordan North, Arielle Free and Dev and Alice will be covering the festival on Radio 1 across the weekend, while DJ Target will head up the action on 1Xtra.

BBC Four will broadcast highlights from the Foo Fighters’ headline set at Reading on Sunday night, while a range of performances from across the Main Stage and the Radio 1 Stage will be streamed live on BBC iPlayer throughout the weekend, which viewers can access on their computers, tablets, mobiles and connected TVs. Selected sets will also be available to watch on demand on iPlayer for 30 days after the festival.

Meanwhile, individual tracks and unforgettable moments will be made available on BBC Music’s YouTube channel and BBC’s dedicated Reading and Leeds site.

Viewers can also switch to Red Button on their TVs to catch performances from Reading live on Friday and Saturday night, while highlights from across the festival will be available throughout the weekend and following week.
