WWII Treasure Hunters heads to Blaze

New and exclusive to Blaze WWII Treasure Hunters sees Britain’s foremost amateur Second World War detectorist, Stephen Taylor, joining forces with Madness frontman, Suggs, as they excavate historical finds from across the UK.
Using state of the art technology and original maps from the Second World War, the pair find the best places to dig, including former military bases, airfields, POW camps and barracks.
As the artefacts are unearthed, the duo turn detective, revealing the stories and people behind the finds. They meet with survivors, experts and historians to understand what happened at each of the locations.
With the help of archaeologists, metal detectorists and their instincts, the series unearths truly breath-taking finds and what’s more, tells the untold human stories that get to the heart of the most devastating war in human history. Suggs gets stuck into the job, finding out what life was like for those alive at the time, and even taking to the skies in a P-51 Mustang.
The pair’s findings include various historic items from the Second World War, from dog tags to weapons, and even a tank. The eight-part series makes its Blaze debut on September 2nd at 9pm.
