Lorraine Kelly opens STV’s Cash Machine
Lorraine Kelly, who marks 35 years in broadcasting shortly, is heading to STV for a brand new quiz show.

Daytime telly favourite Lorraine Kelly turns quiz master in STV’s brand new, high pressure gameshow The Cash Machine starting this weekend, Sunday 1st September at 7pm.
The new six-part series, made by STV Productions, is built around a universally recognised centrepiece, the ATM. With thousands of pounds available, contestants play to answer a series of creative and challenging questions and access the PIN number to the world’s most generous ATM. Contestants must hold their nerve if they hope to win big as they race against time to answer questions and crack the pin.
The format for The Cash Machine was developed by STV Productions Entertainment team and Creative Director, Entertainment, Gary Chippington is Executive Producer on the series. The Cash Machine will be piloted initially in Scotland as part of an investment in new original content, with scope for the format to be distributed in UK and international markets.

Lorraine Kelly is best known to national ITV viewers for her work in the 1980s on the original TV-am Good Morning Britain, then GMTV, Daybreak and her own series’ such as Top of the Morning, LK Today, Lorraine Live and currently Lorraine. The host is no stranger however to STV having hosted several programmes for the Scottish channel including a New Years’ Eve spectacular and charity appeals.
STV broadcasts across Scotland on the Channel 3 (formerly ITV) network. STV Productions produce a range of series including iconic game show Catchphrase for ITV, ratings winner Antiques Road Trip for BBC One, peak-time entertainment show Sex Tape, which recently aired on Channel 4, documentaries Ross Kemp Behind Bars – Inside Barlinnie for ITV and Scotland and the Battle for Britain for BBC Two. In drama, four-part thriller The Victim for BBC One, starring Kelly Macdonald and John Hannah and 90 minute drama Elizabeth is Missing which will star two time Academy Award winner Glenda Jackson in the lead role.
Going further back STV was famous for soap opera High Road and crime drama Taggart.
