This Morning to come from Highclere Castle for Downton Abbey special
ITV’s This Morning is going on location to mark the cinematic release of Downton Abbey.
Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby plus the extended This Morning family will be joined in Hampshire by Downton stars including Jim Carter, Michael Fox and Tuppence Middleton.
BRIT award-winning songstress Emeli Sandé will be performing We Are Not Alone from her latest album ‘Real Life’ whilst Kelly Brook will be tending to the Downton grounds in her gardening segment. There will also be the usual features one expects from the magazine programme.
“The Downton Abbey film is one of the biggest British cinematic releases of the year and so it’s only fitting that one of Britain’s biggest daytime shows is to broadcast live from the set this September.” – Martin Frizell, Editor of This Morning
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield both expressed enthusiasm for hosting the show on location with Holly describing herself as a “huge fangirl” of the period drama whilst Phillip said he couldn’t wait to give viewers a “proper nosey” around the show’s iconic location.
Devised by Julian Fellowes, Downton Abbey aired on ITV between 2010-2015 and drew high ratings and critical acclaim for the broadcaster. A film version was confirmed last year and will be released on 13th September 2019 with ITV airing the This Morning special the day before in its usual slot of 10.30am.
