UKTV launches photographic exhibition at the Oxo Tower

UKTV brings Abandoned Engineering series to life with photography exhibition at the Oxo Tower.

On the 23rd October, UKTV will open a five-day, free photographic exhibition to the public, showcasing 54 images from 16 locations around the world. Each location features in UKTV Original documentary series, Abandoned Engineering on the Yesterday channel.

The exhibition will feature work from five photographers who specialist in urban exploring – Thomas Mueller, Rebecca Bathory, Romain Veillon, Matthew Christopher, and Simon Yeung. Their work has captured some of the most spectacular examples of abandoned engineering across the globe.

At the exhibition, visitors will discover stories about places that were once at the cutting edge of engineering, design and construction. Now echoes from history, crumbling, and on the brink of destruction, they are reminders of terror, war and the devastating power of nature, but also of extraordinary events, great innovation and human endeavour.

Abandoned Engineering, the TV series, is made for Yesterday by Like A Shot Entertainment and over each hour slot the documentary explores how and why things were built, explores the financial and social costs of their failure, and looks at the environmental and ecological impact that each has had.

New episodes of Abandoned Engineering will air to Yesterday on Thursdays at 9pm from 24th October. All previous episodes of Abandoned Engineering are available on UKTV’s free on-demand service UKTV Play.
