A reconditioned toaster causes problems in Still Open All Hours

One to Watch: This Morning… with Richard and Judy, ITV, STV and UTV at 10.30am

It’s been eighteen years since Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan sat down to present a whole live edition of This Morning, however, all that changes today as the original hosts return to the programme on its 31st anniversary.

Back in 2001 Richard and Judy decided to quit the daily magazine show for a teatime Channel 4 series after thirteen years as the lead hosts. Their switch to Channel 4 proved successful with the Richard and Judy show running for eight years; this was followed by a less successful primetime version on a UKTV channel. Despite these shows, and indeed solo presenting roles – Richard hosted game show Runway for ITV and Judy fronted consumer issues programme We Can Work It Out – the pair will be best remembered for their time on This Morning.

Today the duo are back, for one episode only, presenting the show for the first time from Television Centre in London. Richard and Judy launched This Morning in Liverpool at the Granada dockside studios for eight years before the show moved to London where they fronted the series from a specially created studio at the LWT Centre. What’s in store today? Well they have confirmed its ‘business as usual‘ no special look backs, no reflection just your everyday edition of This Morning – only hosted by its best presenters.

With journalist backgrounds and a happy marriage expect that hit-mix that made the show so popular initially, yes no need for faux ‘cock-ups’ and forced laughter today.

Still Open All Hours, BBC One at 8pm

The much-loved follow-on from Open All Hours starring David Jason, James Baxter, Johnny Vegas and Geoffrey Whitehead continues tonight with the second episode in this the sixth series.

Veteran writer Roy Clarke tonight brings us Granville’s idea to open a new catering arm, offering his customers tasty toasties. However things, as so often the case, doesn’t quite go according to plan when his reconditioned toaster blows a fuse.

Mr Newbold gets a little bolder in his pursuit of Mrs Rossi, while trying to avoid the Black Widow. Leroy and Willis meet Beth and Ruby with a view to going on a date, but Willis is worried that Ruby’s not right for him.

Gogglebox: Stand Up To Cancer Celebrity Special, Channel 4 at 9pm

Gogglebox returns once again with a Stand Up To Cancer celebrity special. The League of Gentleman and Inside No. 9 co-creators and stars Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith will be sharing the Gogglebox sofa.

This very special edition of the TV review programme will see the famous faces pass judgement on a vast array on TV goodness. Between their own cutting remarks, tears and laughter will be the views of Britain’s favourite opinionated viewers; the genuine Gogglebox households including best friends Jenny and Lee, Blackpool brother and sister Pete and Sophie, and the Siddiquis.

In recent years the show has seen an array of celebrities share a sofa all in the name of charity; from Naomi Campbell and Noel Gallagher, Jamie Dornan and Nick Frost to One Direction’s Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, Danny and Dani Dyer, England footballers Dele Alli and Eric Dier, Steve Coogan and Anna Friel and pop stars Olly Murs and Niall Horan.

On the very day he receives a professional accolade above ground, below ground Daniel crosses a line he can never return from.
