“Pure Spaces are delighted to be working with We The Curious again to create Winter at the Square. After the success of the Bristol Beach Club and Apres bar, we’re coming back bigger and better for the people of Bristol over the festive period. Our good friends Bump Roller Disco will be back on the square to offer a more sustainable alternative to the ice rink of previous years. We have lots of great surprises in store and can’t wait to get going!” – Jon Ojo, Operations Manager of Pure Spaces
The Square returns this winter for a Christmas pop-up like no other in Bristol for friends and family alike.
This time around an Après Ski Bar, interactive light show aptly named Submergence, BUMP Roller Disco, free film screenings on We The Curious Big Screen Bristol, Christmas tipi’s and more are all confirmed.
The Square will be launching November 15th and running through to January 5th with dedicated Christmas events throughout December at Millennium Square.
Après Ski Bar is back for its fourth consecutive year with mulled wine and cider flowing and the chance for all to snuggle up with a blanket and listen to live music on Thursday evenings. During the weekend, events will be DJ led running late into the night. As always, The Square retains its sustainable ethos with compostable cups at the bar and upcycled shipping containers from Pure Spaces creating the majority of the location.

Submergence by Squidsoup is noted to be a ‘free interactive art installation’ using many thousands of individual points of suspended light to create feelings of presence and movement within a physical space.
An alternative winter activity is Bump Roller Disco, returning to Millennium Square with the upcycled mobile roller rink, giving Bristol a more sustainable option for skating. BUMP Roller disco will welcome the whole family for festive sparkle and vibes and also offers rollerskating classes alongside skate with Santa sessions, weekly disabled sessions, Christmas drinks from the Disco Ball Bar and a Charity BUMP Roller Contest for those keen to show off their skating skills.
For those planning a special festive party in Bristol, luxury, rustic tipis will also be setup in Millennium Square and offer the perfect break with convention, transporting ticket holders to a Christmas wonderland near the waterfront.
