ITV bring John Bishop to their weekends
ITV have lured comedian John Bishop to the network for a new series.

ITV today, November 12th, announced a brand new Entertainment series – John Bishop At The Weekend – coming to ITV in 2020.
During the show – which will air weekly – he’ll be joined by contributors and guests, some of whom may return, to dissect the news of the week in a light-hearted way.
John is no stranger to hosting on the channel, he was previously one of the rotation of hosts on The Nightly Show. He has also hosted his own chat show for UKTV channel W, John Bishop in Conversation with… and comedy series John Bishop’s Only Joking on Sky One and The John Bishop Show on BBC One.
Liverpool-born Bishop performed stand-up comedy for the first time in Manchester in October 2000, in 2002, he was named best newcomer by BBC Radio Merseyside, and in 2004, he won the North West Comedy Award for best stand-up. Bishop’s first television appearance was in 2007 on Irish broadcaster RTÉ One’s topical-comedy show The Panel. Appearances on Channel 4’s Eight out of Ten Cats and BBC One’s Live from the Apollo soon followed.
In 2009, Bishop appeared as the first act on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow in Manchester. That year, he appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with his show Elvis Has Left the Building in the same year he also appeared in Channel 4’s series Comedy Showcase and was a contestant on the Beeb’s Celebrity Mastermind.
At the 2010 British Comedy Awards, Bishop won the Best Male Comedy Breakthrough Artist award.
