The upcoming series will showcase a wealth of guest stars including Steve Pemberton, Nina Wadia, Javone Prince, Jade Anouka, Adrian Edmondson, Alexander Vlahos, Nell Hudson, Samuel West and Samantha Bond.
Nina Wadia, who is known for her roles in Goodness Gracious Me and EastEnders, will appear in several episodes of the drama in the role of Anna.
“It’s been wonderful playing Anna, who in having to start her life over, rediscovers herself whilst unexpectedly finding romance on the island! I laughed my way through it all; how could I not with that fantastic cast?”
Inside No.9‘s Steve Pemberton said that being a part of the ninth series of the drama was a pleasure adding that he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to “film in Guadelope with my old pal Ralf [Little].” Alexander Vlahos, who viewers may know from Versailles, said they’d had a “joyous time” filming on the island.
Nina Wadia is joining Death in Paradise as Anna. Will an encounter with D.I Jack Mooney lead to new things on the horizon?
The raft of guest stars will appear alongside series regulars Ardal O’Hanlon, Aude Legastelois, Tobi Bakare, Shyko Amos, Elizabeth Bourgine and Don Warrington – as well as new lead detective, Ralf Little.
“Our casting director, Sacha Green, has really excelled this year, delivering one of the strongest guest casts we’ve ever had.” – Tim Key, Executive Producer
Other guest stars include: Louise Brealey, Matt King, Clare Hope-Ashitey, Elliot Cowan, Amanda Hale, Alexandra Roach, Adrian Bower, Michael Obiora, Chanel Cresswell, Sam Troughton, Ellen Thomas, Peter De Jersey, Kadiff Kirwan, Andi Osho and Barbara Flynn.
As usual filming has taken place on the picturesque French-Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, which doubles up as the fictional Saint Marie, and the series will, amongst other scenarios, feature a mysterious masked attacker who strikes twice at a family rum distillery and a survival camp trip gone wrong.
Death In Paradise is a Red Planet Pictures production.
