Jamie Laing dons snowman costume for Kidsmas
Jamie Laing dons snowman costume in support of Barnardo’s ‘Kidsmas’ fundraising campaign.
“I’m so pleased to support Barnardo’s Kidsmas campaign. I loved seeing how much fun the children were having throwing snowballs at me. Barnardo’s offers incredible support to children, young people and their families. In particular, their important work supporting children’s mental health really strikes a chord with me.” – Jamie Laing
Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing put himself in the firing line of dozens of snowballs to raise money for vulnerable children this Christmas.
In a video, released today, Jamie dons a snowman costume and is pelted with velcro snowballs by children to promote Barnardo’s new ‘Kidsmas’ campaign.
Jamie submitted to a flurry of snowballs to raise awareness of Barnardo’s ‘Build a Kidsmas Snowman’ online fundraising platform. Through the platform, fundraisers can ask their friends, family or colleagues to throw a ‘donation snowball’. The more snowballs thrown, the bigger their snowman gets and the more money is raised to help change the lives of vulnerable children.
People can also support the campaign by hosting a ‘Kidsmas Party’ at home, school, work and with their local community groups. Anyone can sign up for a free Kidsmas Party pack which includes party games and fun festive fundraising ideas. It’s the perfect way to celebrate Christmas and do something meaningful this Kidsmas. Jamie recently became a Barnardo’s ambassador and hosted Barnardo’s Big Comedy Benefit at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.
“We are very grateful to have Jamie on board as an ambassador. It’s fantastic to have his support in raising awareness and funds for our Kidsmas campaign. For many children, Christmas is a time of joy, but for those struggling with mental health problems, abuse, or history in care, it can feel like just another difficult day. That’s why we’re asking people to come together to raise funds and help Barnardo’s make sure that vulnerable children are safe, supported and cared for – at Christmas and all year round.” – Barnardo’s Chief Executive Javed Khan
