Craig David rings in the New Year on BBC One
The Beeb have announced Craig David as the music star seeing in 2020 on BBC One.
The 7 Days singer will be brightening up New Year’s Eve on BBC One in a very special live concert.
“I can’t think of a better way to see in the New Year and new decade than performing and celebrating with you all. It’s going to be a night to remember!” – Craig David
Craig will be kicking things off on the big night as he is joined on stage at London’s Central Hall Westminster by his legendary band.
As Big Ben strikes midnight, London’s famous fireworks will light up the night sky over the River Thames with a spectacular display choreographed to a specially edited medley of music.
After that, the action switches back inside Central Hall Westminster with Craig performing one of his globally renowned TS5 sets as the party continues.
“Craig is famous for his blistering live sets, so I’m thrilled that he will be ringing in New Year by performing live for BBC One viewers.” – Jan Younghusband, Head of BBC Music TV Commissioning
Since the Rocks Big Ben programme launched those to feature as part of it include Queen, Robbie Williams and Madness. The programme is not shown in Scotland who opt to screen their own Scottish-flavoured content.
A limited number of tickets for the concert went on sale earlier today, visit bbc.co.uk/newyearseve for further details. Craig David Rocks Big Ben Live is a BBC Studios production for BBC One.
“I don’t know why BBC One Scotland still opts out, I’m sure Scottish viewers would love a bit of Craig David. The Scots voted to remain in the UK, and more so seemingly want to be controlled by the EU, so a new year show from London… what’s the problem?” – TV Critic Vivian McSummers
