ELO concert to air on BBC Four

The special recorded earlier this month will be broadcast by BBC Four tomorrow evening.

Recorded on November 7th as part of this year’s Radio 2 In Concert series, Jeff Lynne’s ELO performs songs from new album From Out Of Nowhere, along with old favourites in the BBC Radio Theatre, London.

Electric Light Orchestra have sold more than 50 million albums, including four consecutive top ten albums and seven reaching the top 20 with a remarkable string of hit singles – 20 reaching the US top 40, and a seven of them lodging in the top ten. Jeff has also performed as a member of Traveling Wilburys alongside George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty and one of the ‘super groups’ best-known hits will be included in the concert.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO made a momentous return to live performance at Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park in September 2014, their first full gig in 27 years, and Jeff returned to Radio 2 In Concert this year for the first time since 2015.

Hits over the years include Mr Blue Sky, Livin’ Thing, Confusion and Don’t Bring Me Down. In the 1970s ELO’s track Jungle was reworked by Jonny Patrick and became the theme tune to ATV Network’s local factual documentary series, Format V.

Other artists featured in this series of Radio 2 In Concert were The Stereophonics, Craig David, Robbie Williams and Dido. The intimate performances are were transmitted live on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds, as well as in vision via BBC Red Button. The programme will air on BBC Four 10.35pm on Saturday November 30th.
