Dominic Treadwell-Collins to launch ITV Studios production spin-off
The former boss of EastEnders will launch a new scripted label within the ITV Studios production company.

ITV Studios, a merger of Granada Television and Carlton Productions back in the early 2000s, has over the years seen the company expand with the launch or purchase of several independent production labels. Currently the company note they produce over 8,500 hours of programming across 12 countries with 60 labels currently making content for ITV and other networks across the UK and globe.
Treadwell-Collins will be best known to soap fans for his time overseeing BBC One’s successful four-times-a-week serial EastEnders, however the producer has also been behind the recent multi-award winning A Very English Scandal with Blueprint Pictures. The drama was written by Russell T Davies, directed by Stephen Frears and starred Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw. A Very English Scandal garnered critical acclaim on BBC One last year as well as being recognised at the Baftas, Rose D’Or, Golden Globes and Emmy Awards.
Treadwell-Collins introduced to EastEnders the Carter family.
His venture with ITV will operate from ITV Studios’ London HQ and will focus on creating high-end returning series for the UK and international market, building on ITV Studios’ burgeoning scripted slate and stable of world-class producers.
www.itvstudios.com noted in a statement that they would be ‘working with both new and established talent’ and that ‘Treadwell-Collins will be showrunner across his own projects, as well as executive producer on all shows produced by the label.’ International distribution will be handled by ITV Studios.

Prior to Blueprint Television, Treadwell-Collins was Executive Producer of BBC’s EastEnders for four years, where he revitalised the show, winning BAFTA, RTS, NTA and Soap Awards. He created the iconic Carter family and the long-running Who Killed Lucy? storyline which culminated in the show’s 30th Anniversary Live Week, making a piece of television history as the show broke records with over 20 million viewers tuning in across the week.
A Man In An Orange Shirt, Lovely Day productions for BBC Two.
Previously, he was Head of Development at Lovely Day, which was under the Kudos umbrella, where he developed ITV’s Grantchester and Patrick Gale’s Man In An Orange Shirt for the Beeb.
Up until the early-2000s ITV had a collection of regional production brands based at studios across the UK ranging from Tyne Tees in Newcastle, Central in Nottingham and Meridian in Maidstone. These were, other than Granada in Manchester, YTV in Leeds and LWT in London, asset stripped and reformed into regional news outlets only. The network programming from the North West, Yorkshire and London later rebranded as initially Granada then ITV Productions and since 2008 ITV Studios.
