Emmerdale’s Graham to bow out in Whodunit
The soap has lined up a grisly end for the character.
Graham’s demise is to play out in an action-packed week of episodes in January.
The same day will – in a break from the norm for the soap – play out from the perspective of a different character who will each have a motive for doing away with Graham.
“Graham’s murder will form part of an unmissable week of drama packed full of exciting twists and turns. It’s always exciting to step outside of our usual story-telling style and viewers will be on the edge of their seats as some of our villagers have their lives irrevocably changed forever.” – Laura Shaw, Emmerdale Producer
Over the next month, viewers will see Graham’s list of enemies continue to take shape but is anyone in the village really capable of murder? Shaw added that the exit was fitting end for a character who had been “at the heart of some of our biggest storylines” and that it would “kick off a massive year of drama” for the show.
Former SAS soldier Graham first appeared in the Dales-based saga in September 2017 as seemingly the right hand man of Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous). It was later revealed that he actually worked for Kim Tate (Claire King).
A troubled alcoholic, viewers found out via flashbacks that Graham’s drink-driving had caused the death of his wife and child. Having grown fond of Joe, Graham was torn when Kim ordered him to kill him. Instead, he let Cain Dingle think he had killed Joe after the two came to blows, with Graham helping Joe to escape in secret.
He has recently made an enemy of Kim after getting together with Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry). Episodes airing late last month saw Kim drop the bombshell that she and Graham are in fact married to throw a spanner in the works of Graham and Rhona’s relationship.
Graham hit back by revealing to Kim that he might be the father of her granddaughter Millie. And, looking ahead, it has been teased that Graham will interrupt the Tate Christmas family lunch with a ‘shocking revelation’.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV with an extra episode at 8pm every Thursday.
