Scotland’s commercial broadcaster STV sees content go nationwide on YouView
STV Player content goes UK-wide on YouView.
“This is an exciting period of growth for the STV Player. We’re constantly enhancing our offering on the STV Player and are delighted that a wide selection of programming is now available to viewers across the UK on YouView platform.” – Richard Williams, STV’s Managing Director, Digital,
Leading VOD service, the STV Player, has launched UK wide on YouView. From this week, YouView users in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, will be able to access a selection of content from what is now the most popular commercial VoD player in Scotland.
Due to licensing agreements, STV can only broadcast its Channel 3 network schedule in Scotland as ITV operate the England and Wales service and also own the Northern Ireland offering, UTV. However, STV has been adding a huge array of new content to the STV Player on a monthly basis to complement its home-grown STV produced content, for its audience across the UK.
The STV app is automatically available on every YouView box, further increasing the reach of the Player UK-wide.
