This October, Channel 4’s Sunday morning staple, Sunday Brunch will be supporting Stand Up To Cancer, kicking off a very special month of programming to help raise cash for life-saving cancer research.
“I remember vividly the moment that I was told my dad had cancer. I was only nine years old and it hit me like a ton of bricks. He’s the strongest man I know and thankfully he’s still here with us today. Stand Up To Cancer is such an important cause, funding research to help people just like my lovely dad.
“It couldn’t be easier to sign up and download the fundraising pack from the Stand Up To Cancer website, which is full of brunch recipe ideas. I’ve suggested a brunch classic: blueberry pancakes. I look forward to seeing all of your amazing foodie pictures and hearing all about your donations on the show – enjoy!” – Sunday Brunch chef and co-host Simon Rimmer
Together with the usual Sunday servings of celebrity guests, cookery and music, Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer will be getting behind the fundraising campaign, offering recipe ideas to inspire viewers at home to come together with their household and host their own fundraising brunch, to continue helping those affected by cancer even whilst we are all following government guidelines.
Viewers wanting to join in can pop over to www.channel4.com/su2c and find out how you can download a free fundraising pack stuffed full of top tips and delicious recipe ideas donated by celebrity chefs and keen foodies such as Davina McCall, Jamie Oliver and Simon Rimmer; as well as Andi Oliver, Tom Kerridge, Asma Khan, Laura Jackson and Tim Lovejoy. It couldn’t be easier to get involved and turn your home into an exclusive brunch spot, donating the bill to Stand Up To Cancer.
“I didn’t think cancer was something that would affect my life or my family; I just didn’t really think about it much at all. Then my brother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 37. It was such a shock. And when James died, I almost couldn’t believe it. But one in two people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer.
“So really, it affects all of us. That’s why I’m asking people to join me and Stand Up To Cancer this October by hosting your very own Sunday brunch. All you need to do is sit down with your household or bubble – invite any others over video call if you like – eat good food and raise money for life-saving research to beat this horrendous disease.” – Co-host Tim Lovejoy
