No more Bonekickers
The BBC has confirmed that its archaeological drama series Bonekickers will not return for a second season following poor reviews and disappointing ratings.
The BBC has confirmed that it has decided not to commission another series of Bonekickers following its disappointing run on BBC One earlier in the year. The archaeological drama starred Julie Graham, Hugh Bonneville, Adrian Lester and Gugu Mbatha-Raw and was mostly filmed in and around Bath. The series started strongly with nearly seven million viewers but viewers didn’t stay with the series and by the time it ended there was only four million millions still watching the drama.
The series also suffered from poor reviews with critics mostly savaging the drama for its barmy plots. Every episode of the drama featured the team uncovering an artifact of major importance and this was criticised by viewers of the series as being unrealistic. The BBC had high hopes for the drama as it was by the team behind Life On Mars and Ashes To Ashes.
