Demons star glad of Echo Beach axe

Christian Cooke in DemonsDemons actor Christian Cooke admits to being happy that Echo Beach, the flop ITV drama he had a role in, was axed.

In an interview with The Daily Star actor Christian Cooke admits to being Younger cast of flop Echo Beachhappy that ITV decided to axe flop series Echo Beach. The drama launched last January with much fanfare by ITV and was accompanied by companion show Moving Wallpaper, which a comedy/drama series about the making of Echo Beach. While ITV had much hope for Echo Beach critics and viewers were not impressed by the series and ratings quickly dropped off. In the series Cooke played Brae Marrack, on-screen son to Jason Donovan’s character.

“Things are going great now and the attention is unbelievable. I’m glad I’m not doing Echo Beach any more because it was s**t! I shouldn’t really say that because you shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds you. But it was a bold move for them and I had so much fun doing it.” Cooke speaking to The Daily Star

Christian CookeWhile Moving Wallpaper was commissioned for a second series by ITV the commercial broadcaster opted not to bring back Echo Beach due to low ratings. Christian Cooke is currently appearing in ITV’s new supernatural series Demons in which he plays the leading role of Luke Rutherford alongside Zoe Tapper and Phillip Glenister. Later this year Cooke will star in new ITV2 teen drama series Trinity.
