Remembering Carol Lee Scott and Grotbags

ATV Today picks some video highlights of Grotbags in celebration of Carol Lee Scott, who died earlier this month.

As reported earlier CITV star Carol Lee Scott has passed away aged 74. She’ll be best remembered as Children’s ITV’s witch Grotbags in several series’ across the 1980s and 90s. Courtesy of the joy that is You Tube, here’s a few of our favourite moments.

Money – Emu’s World – Central Television

From the musical Cabaret here Carol gives Money her unique witch-styled take.

It Ain’t What You Do (It’s the Way That You Do It) – Emu’s World – Central Television

A more contemporary piece from the time as Grotbags puts her magic spell on the The Fun Boy Three & Bananarama hit.

Gimme Dat Ding – Emu’s World – Central Television

It could have been written for Grotbags, and she certainly gives it her ding. Carol’s version of the 1970s one-hit-wonder Gimme Dat Ding originally performed by The Pipkins and arranged by hit-maker Albert Hammond.

Mean Green Mother – The Pink Windmill Show – Central Television

Finally another song from a musical. This time The Little Shop of Horrors track Mean Green Mother (from Outer Space) is adapted to fit the character of Grotbags.
