Dawson for One Hill
James Van Der Beek, best known to UK audiences for his role in Dawson’s Creek, is to guest star in One Tree Hill.
Actor James Van Der Beek will guest star in teen drama series One Tree Hill. The actor is best known, to a generation of viewers, for his title role in the drama series Dawson’s Creek. The series was shown on Channel Four in the UK and influenced many teen drama’s of its time and C4’s own teen series, As If, was compared, by some, to Dawson’s Creek. One Tree Hill is something of a successor to ‘Creek’ and certainly owes its existence to the series.
In One Tree Hill Van Der Beek will play a director hoping to adapt a book written by Lucas Scott [Chad Michael Murray]. One Tree Hill has surprised some industry insiders by surviving for so long. For several years it was in the shadow of fellow teen series The O.C but that drama series was axed after its fourth season due to low ratings.
One Tree Hill has seen, since the demise of the O.C, its ratings rise and has managed to come into its own. The series has now run for 128 episodes over six seasons. After Dawson’s Creek ended after five years, and 129 episodes, James Van Der Beek appeared in the film adaptation of Bret Easton Elllis’ novel The Rules of Attraction. The film was directed by Roger Avary and also starred Shannyn Sossamon and Ian Somerhalder, who went on to appear in the first season of Lost.
