Carlyle signs for new Stargate

 

Scottish television and film actor Robert Carlyle has signed up for a leading role in the new Stargate spin-off, Universe.

Scottish actor Robert Carlyle has been signed up for a lead role in the new upcoming new Stargate spin-off, Stargate Universe, according to The Hollywood Reporter. According to the trade paper Carlyle will play Doctor David Rush in the new project. Stargate Universe is the second spin-off series from the Stargate franchise and will effectively replace Stargate Atlantis as the series has been cancelled. Stargate Universe will premier next year with a two-hour television movie and a weekly series is expected to follow. Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1 will continue in the form of DVD/TV movies on the Sci Fi Channel.
