Hell’s Kitchen axe for Deayton

ITVTelevision presenter Angus Deayton has reportedly been axed from ITV series Hell’s Kitchen following arguments with Chef Marco Pierre White.

According to The Daily Mail presenter Angus Deayton has been axed from ITV’s Hell’s Kitchen itvfollowing a series of arguments with Chef Marco Pierre White. Deayton has hosted the series since its launch on ITV in 2004 and the Chef during the first series was Gordon Ramsay. However, Ramsay left the after the first series and the show was revamped – moving away from the celebrity based competition of the first series. Pierre White joined the show for its third series but according to sources he and Deayton clashed several times.

“Marco and Angus never got on and now Angus has been axed from the show. He is seething but Granada realised they basically had to choose between him and Marco. At the end of the day, Marco’s the star of the show and the bigger personality.” – A “Source” talking to The Daily Mail.

The series will return for a fourth season in April of this year and producers are now looking for a new presenter for the show. Deayton was the presenter of topical quiz show Have I Got News For You between 1990 and 2002, when he was sacked due to a series of tabloid stories regarding his personal life. Since leaving the topical quiz show Deayton appeared in both seasons of dark BBC Three comedy Nighty Night, guest starred in Casualty and Absolute Power and also hosted game-show Would I Lie To You? in 2007 for the BBC.
