Corden blasts Hollyoaks

James Corden has once again attacked Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks just a week after critics blasted his new film, Lesbian Vampire Killers, and his BBC Three sketch show – both of which feature Matthew Horne.

Corden attacked Hollyoaks despite having worked on the saga, in a small role, eight years ago. Even though the cast, for the most part, is entirely different the actor has once again hit out at it.

“It was hell on earth. I am sure it has changed a lot now…No-one cared about making TV, they just cared about other things. It wasn’t how I particularly liked to work. I am sure if I ever go to prison I am in for a shock if I imagine it is like that, it wasn’t that bad. There is a real lack of aspiration to making something as good as you can.” – Corden speaking to The Liverpool Echo

The actor made similar remarks about the show last year when he said he’d rather die than go back to the soap – though it’s unlikely producers would want him back anyway. Eight years ago the actor had a small, recurring role, as a care-taker on the show that even the most die-hard Hollyoaks fan would struggle to remember.

Corden’s attack on the programme comes after critics savaged his new BBC Three sketch show, which sees him co-star alongside Matthew Horne. His and Horne’s film, Lesbian Vampire Killers, also didn’t go down well with the critics – nor did his cringe-a-minute Comic Relief sketch.
