Fawlty Towers special for Gold
In the 1970s everyone wanted to avoid staying at a place like Fawlty Towers, but loved watching others suffer at the hands of Basil.
UKTV Channel Gold is to broadcast two new specials celebrating classic BBC sitcom Fawlty Towers. Actress and series co-writer Connie Booth will break her silence on the sitcom by appearing in one of the specials and talking about the series.
Gold, one of the UKTV channels, is to air two specials celebrating the classic BBC sitcom Fawlty Towers. The first special, titled Fawlty Towers: Re-Opened, will feature interviews with cast, crew and famous fans of the sitcom. Amongst those speaking about the series will be co-star and co-writer Connie Booth who wrote the series with her then husband John Cleese.
Booth’s appearance in the show will break her long silence about her time on Fawlty Towers. Also talking about the series will be John Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Andrew Sachs and Prunella Scales. The shows will also feature behind-the-scenes footage and clips from various remakes of the series from around the world.
The specials, produced for Gold by Tiger Aspect Productions, will air on 10th and 17th of May.
