A new series of BBC One’s Edwardian medical drama is to air on BBC One later this year.
The BBC has confirmed that it’s Edwardian based medical drama is to return later this year. The new six-part series, entitled Casualty 1909, will once again star Cherie Lunghi and Sarah Smart in their respective roles.
The series follows the success of Casualty 1907 last year, a three-part drama commissioned after the success of pilot episode Casualty 1906. The series is set in the Royal London Hospital and is based around historical documents about the day to day lives of nurses working in a hospital during the period. The series proved to be a hit with viewers with an average of six million watching Casualty 1907.
