Enders cut down Dot Episodes
EastEnders are cutting down on the amount of episodes Dot Cotton [June Brown] appears in to save money according to a tabloid report.
The recession and budget cuts at the BBC are apparently forcing EastEnders bosses to cut down the amount of episodes Dot Cotton [June Brown] appears in to save money.
It’s also likely other EastEnders actors could similarly be affected as bosses opt to use the “cheaper” actors to pad out episodes in order to save cash. The cut-down in episodes for actress June Brown was reported by The Sun and the paper claims the character won’t be seen on-screen again until May.
Brown is one of the higher paid EastEnders stars and has been nominated for a Bafta award at this year’s awards ceremony. Her nomination is the first soap actress to receive such a nod since Jean Alexander in the late 1980’s for her role of Hilda Ogden in Coronation Street.
The EastEnders actress has been nominated for her solo episode of the BBC show, a soap first, which saw the character of Dot reminisce about her life while recording a message for her ill husband Jim.
