Strong start for The Great British Weather

The Great British Weather{jcomments off}BBC One’s new series examining the British obsession with weather got off to a good start last night with over 4 million viewers.

The Great British Weather is fronted by Carol Kirkwood, Chris Hollins and Alexander Armstrong. It also features past and present weather forecasters such as Michael Fish and Tomasz Schafernaker. The first part last night launched on BBC One at 7.30 and was a mixture of live and pre-recorded material such as a feature on the role predicting the weather played in the preparations for D-Day in World War Two. The first episode was seen by 4.1 million viewers according to overnight figures. While that’s down from Waterloo Road’s average of 5 million plus in the same slot its still a good launch for the new factual series.
