Panorama special on Murdoch seen by over 3 million viewers

The episode, at 8.30, was seen by 3.6 million viewers. The edition interviewed journalists and politicians about the scandal, the effect on Murdoch’s empire and how it has changed the political landscape.

At 9pm Jason Manford fronted Show Me The Funny was slaughtered by BBC One’s ever reliable New Tricks. The drama starring Amanda Redman and James Bolan was seen by 8.7 million viewers – a rise of nearly 1 million viewers on last week. Show Me The Funny launched with just 2.6 million viewers – critics will hail it as another example of an entertainment flop for ITV along with Popstar to Operastar and The Marriage Ref.
