Chizzy Akudolu first to leave Strictly Come Dancing 2017

The former Holby City star exited the competiton this weekend.

After lines opened for the first time this series, Chizzy and her partner Pasha Kovalev found themselves in the dance off alongside comedian Brian Conley and his partner Amy Dowden after two lots of judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes.

Looking to impress the judging panel and secure their place in the competition, each couple performed their routine from Saturday’s (30 September) show again with Chizzy and Pasha performing their Foxtrot to I’m a Woman by Peggy Lee and Brian and Amy doing their Cha Cha to Shake Your Groove Thing by Peaches and Herb.

The judges then delivered their verdicts with Craig Revel Horwood opting to save Chizzy and Pasha in contrast to Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas who instead desired to see Brian progress further.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported. And this guy… this dude, I have loved every minute dancing with him and it will continue because I will just be going round his house to dance now. But I don’t have his address so if anyone could email me I would appreciate it! And thank you to the judges for the constructive criticism which I will take on board. Thank you.” – Chizzy Akudolu

Pasha added: “You were so much fun to work with, all the laughs we had together, all the great dancing we did together I absolutely enjoyed every single second of it and fine, come over to my house!”

Sunday’s results show also featured a musical performance from award-winning Emeli Sande, who sang Starlight.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 7th October with the results show on Sunday 8th October on BBC One.
