Colin Wells reprises Johnno Dean role in Hollyoaks
Frankie Osborne’s ex-husband will be back on screen later this month.
Colin Wells has reprised his role of Johnno who was last seen in 2005 when his love rat antics led to family disownment.
In true Hollyoaks style The Osbornes have had a difficult year with Jack’s shady past coming back to haunt him, Darren dealing drugs and Nancy being diagnosed with MS so when Johnno turns up with an offer for Frankie; a life on the open road imitating Cher will she bite his hand off?
Johnno returns to screens in episodes being screened w/c 23rd October, with the story continuing into the following week when the soap will air a huge stunt.
Furious at Johnno’s return, Jack issues Frankie with an ultimatum – her past or her present. However, when she ponders her answer, he is heartbroken. While the rest of the Osbornes head to the school prize giving where their lives are all put in danger by an explosion, Frankie is left alone in the house with Johnno who pushes for an answer.
Will Frankie leave Hollyoaks without knowing what danger her family is in, or will a tragedy keep her in the village?
Mark Powley originated the role of Johnno in 2002 before Wells was recast in the part in 2003. Colin was best known prior to this as Jake Booth in ITV Central series Crossroads which was relaunched in 2001 at the Carlton Studios in Nottingham. The Midland motel based saga proved mildly successful for the ITV network, however 3 million viewers wasn’t enough for executives and a ‘camp revamp’ took place in late 2002 – with Wells character of motel deputy manager Jake axed from the plots. Crossroads’ reboot failed to lure in audiences with under a million tuning in by its final episode in May 2003.
