EastEnders introduce Katie Jarvis as latest Slater
Tonight’s episode of the saga shed some light on the mysterious newcomer.

Actress Katie Jarvis has joined the BBC One soap as Stacey Fowler’s (Lacey Turner) cousin Hayley, who was first seen on the Square a few weeks ago as a stranger observing Stacey’s husband Martín (James Bye). A mysterious phone call and some unflattering comments about Martin prompted much speculation as to her identity.
In tonight’s (27 February) episode viewers learnt of the character’s familial connection to Stacey, and that the pair have been secretly plotting against Martin following his and Stacey’s acrimonious split.
The family tree sees Hayley as Stacey’s first cousin and second cousin to Kat, Little Mo, Lynne and Belinda.
With Hayley admitting that she’ll ‘fight dirty if she has to’, it’s clear she’s a chip-off-the-Slater-block, but what have she and Stacey been cooking up? And, how will it affect Martin?

In related news, EastEnders bosses announced in December that the characters of Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) and Mo Harris (Laila Morse) are returning to the soap.
Former top boss John Yorke – who created the Slater family alongside Tony Jordan – has been drafted in to boost the fortunes of the saga which is struggling in the ratings.
