FARC rebels say they are holding France 24 journalist
Missing France 24 journalist Romeo Langlois is being held by FARC rebels in Colombia.
Langlois has been missing since 28th April after an attack on a Colombian army convoy in which he and several Colombian soldiers were taken. He was accompanying a military and police patrol in Caqueta province, where the (FARC) Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia are active.
“The 15th division informs the public that the French journalist, who was dressed in military clothes and captured in battle, is in our hands as a prisoner of war.” – a statement read out via YouTube
France 24 say that only Langlois is being held after the attack. The remaining Colombian soldiers were released the day after the attack. FARC went on to say that Langlois was slightly wounded in his left arm, but had now been treated.
