Ryan heads back to Hollyoaks

Leah tricks Ryan by pretending she’s ill and he comes running to check on her but when he discovers it was a lie, Ryan tries to make a run for it but will Ste and Leah’s convincing words make him stay?

Last night’s E4 viewers will have seen Leah text Ryan off Ste’s phone pretending she’s ill in the hope he will return and in tonight’s E4 episode, it’s clear that Leah’s plan works!

Leah pretends she has “rickets” and makes Ste bring her to hospital, but when DS Thorpe tells her Leah that she could end up in hospital for months, she backtracks and pretends she is feeling much better. She tells Ste she just wants to see “Ry Ry” and before she knows it, he bursts through the door much to Ste’s surprise.

When Ste tells Ryan it was all a lie that Leah made up, Ryan makes a run for it and Ste chases him. Leah and Ste beg Ryan to stay and Ste reveals that Tegan is still in her coma and Kim has not been seen. Ryan hesitates but he refuses and rushes off again.

Ryan heads to Hollyoaks High and emotionally apologises to Kim, thinking he has killed her. Kim stays silent on the other side of the door but when Ryan says his goodbyes, she breaks down in tears.

Leah reveals to Leela that Ryan is back and Leela tells Ste she has to make Ryan go and see Tegan as he could help with her recovery. Elsewhere, DS Thorpe finds Ryan on The Dog patio and is upset that Ryan didn’t consider him and Doreen when he left. However, Thorpe manages to encourage Ryan to look after his family and understand that everyone is grieving but Leah and Lucas need him now more than ever.

Meanwhile, Kim is starting to count out her sweetcorn to see how much food she has left and is distraught to discover she is running out – will she be found before its too late? Later, Ste is shocked to find Ryan waiting outside the Lomaxe’s. Ryan asks to explain himself and Ste agrees whilst Leela is acting erratic when trying to gather memories with Leah and Lucas for Amy’s memorial. Thorpe offers to take the kids home when they complain about being cold and Louis comes to Leela’s side.

Ryan begs for Ste’s forgiveness but Ste is pushing back. Ryan tells Ste he is willing to stay if he keeps their relationship a secret. As they are about to kiss, DS Thorpe enters with Leah and Lucas. Leah is onto them and tells them both she knows that they’re back on.

Ryan and Ste sit Leah down and Ryan tells Leah how it’s him who wants to keep their relationship a secret and Leah agrees to do so. However, Leah is preparing to reveal all at Amy’s memorial as she prints off text messages between them both. She tells Lucas “everybody should tell the truth” – is the truth about to be known?

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a ‘first look’ episode on E4 at 7pm
