Andy Coulson to give evidence at Leveson Inquiry

Former Downing Street communications chief will give evidence at the Leveson Inquiry later today.
Andy Coulson quit his top government role in January 2011 due to questions over phone-hacking at News of the World. Coulson was editor of the Sunday tabloid from 2003 – 2007 but left after royal editor Clive Goodman was jailed after pleading guilty to hacking.
The Guardian is reporting that when Coulson was at Downing Street, he attended counter-terrorism and emergency committee meetings for which he was not given the highest security clearance needed.
Pressure will be on Prime Minister David Cameron, who at the time faced questions as to why he hired Coulson despite warnings that were raised. It is thought that Coulson may reveal details of the relation between Downing Street and the press.
Former editor and News International executive Rebekah Brooks will appear at the inquiry tomorrow.
