ABC Axes GCB and Missing

A few more casualties of the season have been revealed as ABC axes GCB and confirms the cancellations of Pan AM, Missing and The River.

Soapy drama GCB (Good Christian Bitches) has been cancelled by ABC. The drama was a “bubble show” meaning its future could have gone either way. The fact that ABC renewed its two other “bubble shows”, Body of Proof and Private Practice, killed GCB to be honest. ABC was not going to renew three such shows so opted for the two which already had a fan base and sold well abroad.

ABC has also confirmed what most of us knew already; Missing, Pan Am and The River have been axed.

There may be hope for Pan Am, which starred Christina Ricci, as there are reports producers are hoping a cable broadcaster will pick it up after it won the Golden Rose Award for Best Series at the Rose d’Or TV awards in Europe this week. Paranormal series The River was seen as a possible series that Netflix would be interested in though its unclear whether this is still the case.
