Britney Spears expected to join X Factor USA

Pop superstar Britney Spears is expected to be unveiled as a new judge on X Factor USA.
Spears is expected to appear in person in New York City on Monday according to celebrity website TMZ where the FOX Up Fronts will be announced. It was reported last week that Spears had signed a contract although TMZ claim this is not the case. It is thought that a deal will be finalised before her appearance next week.
Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were confirmed earlier this year not to be returning to judge the second season, due on air in September. Steve Jones, who was widely panned by critics for his hosting of the reality show was also dropped.
Melanie Amaro became the first person to win The X Factor USA, winning a $5 million recording contract.
