Police Enforcers arrive at Channel 5
Former Crimewatch presenter Rav Wilding is to join Essex Police’s Specialist Operations Units as they stamp out front line crime in a new six part series for Channel 5.
Ex-policeman Rav will take viewers right to the heart of the action, using his eight years of policing experience to give a unique insight into their battle against crime.
“I’m really excited to be working on this new series – Police Enforcers takes the viewer closer to the heart of the action than ever before and shows what every brave police officer faces day to day.” Rav said while Michelle Chappell, Commissioning Editor of News, Current Affairs and Documentaries at Channel 5 adds, “Police Enforcers takes cop shows to a whole new level, giving viewers an insight into what modern frontline policing is all about from the briefing word go to the adrenaline-fuelled arrest. We’re thrilled Rav Wilding is working with Channel 5 on this new series.”
Each episode of Police Enforcers will follow Rav as he embeds himself with the officers right in the thick of it – from dawn raid drug busts to hunting down armed robbers. Rav gets up close and personal with the officers charged with cleaning up our streets. Police Enforcers will reveal the reality of working at the sharp end of British police.
A mixture of different Policing Units at Essex will feature including OSG (a specialist crack team), 999 Response and Patrol, Mounted Police, Marine and Dog Section.
The hour long programmes are to be produced by ITV Studios for the broadcaster.
