One to Watch: Guy Martin’s D-Day Landing, Channel 4, 8pm

On the 6th of June 1944, 180,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Nazi-occupied France, in the most complicated military exercise ever conceived.

Six hours earlier, 23,000 paratroopers were dropped under the cover of darkness to prepare the way and limit the German counter-attack. Now, to pay tribute to those brave paratroopers and commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, Guy Martin’s on his biggest mission yet.

He’ll help restore the paratroopers’ plane of choice, a World War II Douglas C-47 ‘Dakota’, drop a paratrooper’s motorcycle from an RAF Hercules transporter, and undergo brutal training with the Red Devils parachute display team and the modern Parachute Regiment to get ready for his own big jump, deep into the Normandy countryside.

As this will be the last major anniversary witnessed by D-Day survivors, the documentary also contains a number of moving contributions from veterans including a flying nurse, a special forces pathfinder and a German soldier who fought the Allied invasion on the frontline.

World Cup of Darts, Sky Sports Action, 6pm

The World Cup of Darts returns to the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg as 32 countries compete in doubles and singles events in a colourful, unique spectacle.

Last year, the Netherlands duo of Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld stormed to a record-equalling their fourth world title win, despatching Scotland in the finals. Another win would make it the third consecutive World Cup for the Dutch, and would break the record for the most World Cup victories held by
any country.

The pressure is on.

Britain’s Got Talent – Live Final, ITV, STV, UTV, 7.30pm

Last night it was the gong dramas of the British Soap Awards on ITV, with Hollyoaks taking the best soap gong, being the star surprise of the evening. Will there be just as many surprises tonight as the 13th series of Britain’s Got Talent comes to a close with its spectacular live finale?

After a series which has featured the good, the bad, the weird and the wonderful and has showcased the best talent on offer from singers and magicians to dancers and comedians, tonight the final acts go head-to-head to win the hearts and votes of the public.

The lucky winner will be crowned the 13th champion of Britain’s Got Talent, securing a life-changing cash prize of £250,000 and a spot at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.

England’s World Cup Lionesses, BBC One, 10.30pm

England’s Lionesses qualified for the World Cup last August and since then BBC Sport’s cameras have had exclusive access to the squad, following their preparations for this summer’s finals.

Throughout the nine months some very special moments have been captured including a trip to Qatar for a Lioness training camp with a difference and the moment the 2019 Lionesses lifted their first trophy, the SheBelieves Cup in America.
