Chris Kamara to appear in Emmerdale

Emmerdale viewers will soon see ex-footballer Chris Kamara make a cameo appearance in a couple of forthcoming episodes.

Chris plays a manager for a local football team who are playing against Emmerdale.

“I watch Emmerdale with my wife and my son, in fact my son is a massive Emmerdale fan so if I was coming down, they had to come too. It was a great day and I loved it! I essentially got to play myself and not a character, but hopefully that’ll be the next thing along the line.” – Chris Kamara

A big village football match will see the villagers’ competitiveness put to the test, especially when Doug played by Duncan Preston and Jimmy played by Nick Miles hear who the opposition manager is…

These episodes will air towards the end of June.

Other famous faces to cameo in the village-set serial drama include singer Tony Christie (2005), cricketer Ian Botham (1995), Countdown host Richard Whiteley (2000), dancer Lionel Blair (2008), singer Marti Pellow (2001) and TV Chef Anthony Worrall-Thompson (2008) to name only a few.

In other Emmerdale news long standing actor Chris Chittell is to be honoured with a British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday gong giving. The 71-year-old who has played Eric Pollard since 1986 and the old Emmerdale Farm days is the ITV Yorkshire produced saga’s longest serving cast member.
