Goodbye: The (After) Life of Cook and Moore heads to Dingwalls and Camden Fringe

Cook and Moore stage show heads to Dingwalls and Camden Fringe.

The real Dud and Pete.

Dingwalls continues to lead from the front with a fantastic new theatre show celebrating the lives of iconic comedians Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. Goodbye: The (After) Life of Cook and Moore has been hailed by the Financial Times as “a scabrously funny and sombre play that puts the comedy duo’s turbulent relationship under the spotlight.”

There are seven shows throughout August, five of those dates as part of the Camden Fringe programme.

Dingwalls is the newly invigorated club with a rich history dating back generations. It is now the beating heart of London’s nocturnal landscape and this new Dingwalls and Howlin Entertainment show, which is produced by David Elphick and Kev Orkian, is fittingly unique for such a unique venue.

Back in the ’70s Francis is talking.

Starring Kev Orkian, fresh from appearing in David Baddiel’s Infidel musical and a Semi Finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, and written by the highly regarded Jonathan Hansler and Clive Greenwood, the show captures the anarchic vibe of the legendary comedians and features some of Moore and Cook’s best loved punk era characters, Derek and Clive.

This darkly surreal comic fantasy finds the duo visited by other dead comics whose lives they influenced for good or bad, including Peter Sellers, Tony Hancock, Kenneth Williams and Frankie Howerd.

Some 40 years after they first hit the public consciousness, Cook and Moore are still a much loved, fondly remembered and groundbreaking team who paved the way for younger generations of comedy talent. This show offers a nostalgic peek into their afterlife with plenty of laughs, celebrity characters and a touch of vulgarity which brings the double act Derek and Clive starkly back to life.

Side splitting and thought provoking in equal measure, this is another not to be missed event from Dingwalls. – Dingwalls

Hancock, remembered for more than just a half-hour.
